I enjoyed reading this. It was sweet. It's a happy end kind of book. However, I didn't like how at time August was looked as less of a boy. His peers treated him like a younger boy who could never get to enjoy the things normal for his age. I remember reading a reader review on GoodReads that said the same thing, but in a more coherent way.

My sister bought the whole series and once she was done reading them she lent them to me. This first book is so engrossing! I enjoyed it so much! It was eye opening to see a side of Italy I haven't read or heard of before, a side that was not vacation picture perfect.

Not as appealing as the first one, but it still held my interest. I gave it 4* on GoodReads, but I also made a note saying that it was more like a 3.5*.
It's Fredrik Backman. I will forever read whatever he publishes. This novella is so good and so sad. I read it in December, and somehow it was the perfect time to read it. I plan to reread it.

At several points it had the feel of a soap opera. Reading the back
cover I was expecting a major heartbreak and tears and sad vibes, just
what I want in my highly praised novels of this kind. However, my heart was not
broken. I liked how the novel ended and I think it's the right way.
Also, the events of the novel could have been cut shorter if only...,
know what I mean? I seriously asked myself what was the point of this novel. Nine months later and I am still not sure. Trying to makes us all cry and feel things, but those two adults could have been smarter. And then this novel wouldn't have existed. It's the first novel that has made me think like this. And yet, I gave it 4*.
I wanted to read this to see if I liked John Green's writing. I sure did not like this novel. It was OK. A serious topic approached, but I was not rooting for either of the characters, the storyline did not impress me. I read it because it was popular. But I sure did enjoy The Fault in Our Stars. Not sure if I would still like if I read it again, so I won't.

The Christmas Candle is my favourite Christmas movie. Last Christmas I finally got to read the book. It was nice, but I like the movie better. Unsurprisingly, it's nothing like the book, but whatever.
