Seamless by Angie Smith - Book Review

I have finally finished going through Angie Smith's Seamless Bible Study. This was my first Bible study and it proved what I knew all along: I am not a Bible study kind of person. The study wasn't very detailed, it was easy to go through, and it is a good starting point for someone who isn't very familiar with the Bible. I picked up some Bible trivia along the way, I underlined the very wise observations Angie made (although not as many as in a regular book written by her), and got a better image of the Bible's whole image. At times it felt a bit rushed, maybe it could have been longer and more detailed, but I can see how the author probably didn't want this to be overwhelming.
3*

I was part of the Seamless Launch Team, so I received a free copy of the Bible Study from Life Way. All the above thoughts are my own.

Latest library additions

For my birthday in November my friend preordered for me Melanie Shankle's third book, Nobody's Cuter Than You. This book is actually number on in Ethics, which is all kinds of funny if you know Melanie. It's a book about friends and friendships. It arrived last week and on Friday I got it. It was as if my birthday was in April! I started reading the book over the last weekend and I plan to read more over this weekend. I loved Melanie's first two books, despite me not having anything in common with marriage or parenting. To this one I can relate. Barely 20 pages in and it makes me think and ponder.

The other addition to my library is the much mentioned #SeamlessBibleStudy written by Angie Smith. This book sure took its time to arrive, but this made receiving it all the more special. I took photos of the package

of the contents of the package

and of the latest additions to my library.

Knowing these authors and having read their previous books, I am sure I will loved these books, too.

Seamless Bible Study - Social Media Launch Team

This morning I received an email which confirmed that I was part of a social media launch team for a book I am very curious about and eager to read. The book is Angie Smith's Seamless. This is the book trailer where Angie says more about the book.
Angie Smith is my favourite Christian author of non-fiction. Studying the Bible sounds, I am sure, daunting. But I am sure this study will be so helpful in learning more about the "big picture" the Bible has. Can't wait to read the book. It releases on April 1st. There are videos that go with this study and versions for leaders, or young girls have been released as well. Clearly, this is a well though product.
In the email I received this morning, there were three printables with Bible verses written on them. All three of them are absolutely lovely. Here is one of them:
Angie's launch team is actually the second book launch team I have been a part of. The first one was for Jessica Turner's book, Fringe Hours, which I have reviewed a few weeks ago. Here's to book launches and the behind the scenes peeks they give!

Recently read

I am ashamed to look at my good reads shelf for 2015! Ashamed, I tell you!
I have only read three books this year! Three!
Goodness.
It's true that I have three books started but I have yet to finish them.

So here are the three books I've actually finished reading:

1. The Fringe Hours: Making Time for You - by Jessica Turner
I reviewed this book in January. I was surprised that I liked it, but I did. It's Jessica's practicality throughout this book, and this is probably why I liked it so much. This is also the pick for the Bloom Book Club. This is a whole 'nother story, but Bloom Book Club has been going on for a few years now. It was started by Angie and Jessica, whom I have been following for a very long time. Since 2006 or 2007. A long time! Anyways, this is their last book club for Bloom as hosts. I couldn't believe it when they announced it. This being said, it's going to be extra special having read this book in advance because now I will actually know what they are talking about in the videos. Always a plus, I'd say.

2. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe - by C. S. Lewis
I read this as the third book in the Narnia series. Me and my friend are reading this as part of out "book club". Book club of two. whatever. I remember I read this before, but as all good books, it gets better and better every time you reread it. I am sure this will not be my last time reading it. Also, the first time I read it in Romanian, but now I read it in English, so imagine my delight!

3. Home Is Where My People Are: The Roads That Lead Us to Where We Belong - by Sophie Hudson
This is Sophie's second book. I like her first book and since I like to finish what I start, I decided that the first book is also the first in a collection. Therefore, I bought her second book as well. No regrets. It's better than the first one. I am a firm believer that a person who is willing to truly invest in a book he or she is writing, will write better and better with every new book. This was the case with Melanie's books, as it was with Angie's books. I will probably write a longer review for Sophie's book, but in a nut shell, I liked it and I liked it better than the first one. Also, I was clearly born in the wrong place of the world. I was supposed to be born in the Southern part of US of A.
