When do you have too many book on the to-read shelf?

When does one say Oh, I have enough to-read books? Probably not soon enough. Because before you know it, there are tens, thousands of books you want to read. And that little blurb on GoodReads or wherever you find the said books, the blurb which dares you to read 'em? Yeah, well, that blurb is making you powerless. So you keep on adding books. You'll be old and gray before you manage to read them all. Let us not forger that new books release every year. Good books. Books GoodReads and its friends will tell you you have to read. And there goes your social life.
But maybe this is just me.

These are just two lists I put together based on random blogs, twitter, and other internet finds. This is just from last week. I also have my ever-growing Pinterest shelf - books.library.bookstore. It's obviously more a collection of books to read than anything having to do with libraries and bookstores.

Because this is not enough, I have my GoodReads to-read list. I am ashamed of that one. It has 500+ books to read. I am preeeety sure this life will not be long enough for me to read them all. For once, I am glad not every book on my GoodReads to-read shelf is possible to find. That cuts some of them from the list. (whew).

And as if this wasn't enough, I have a notepad on my laptop with a mockingly long list of books to read. I must say, the lists are different. Maybe about 5 to 10 books appear on 2 lists, but other than that, all original. I am a lost books-to-read cause.

  1. Ioana, what a lovely blog! I seriously envy all your pretty hobbies as I have time for nothing, plus I guess I don't have the patience it takes to pursue one.
As for books, I'm pretty much the same, except I only have two lists (paper and GR) but also a mental one, which changes all the time, of course, as I tend to easily forget. Beloved has been on my list since forever!
